Non Domestic Rate Relief Scheme 2008

The Welsh Assembly Government will shortly be making legislation to increase the provision of rates relief for small businesses in Wales, which over 10,000 additional businesses in Wales could benefit from. 

The additional help for small retailers will be of particular help for:

-  small independent shops

-  pubs

-  petrol filling stations in local communities

Also, the additional assistance for child care and credit unions will help further the Assembly Government's objectives of increasing the provision of these services. 

The change will be backdated to 1st April 08 and will provide a boost for these businesses during these difficult economic times

Together with a scheme to provide funding for businesses that allow public access to their toilet facilities, this package provides around £7m of additional assistance for business, which is in line with our One Wales commitment.
