The Welsh Assembly Government has identified
several key business sectors that are crucial to the nation’s
future economic success. These are sectors in which Wales already
has a significant track record and strong potential for growth.
Our aim is to ensure we nurture businesses in
these sectors with a wide range of support to maximise their
prospects for market success.
This covers support through sector
development strategies, where interventions include:
- ensuring a ready supply of specific skills by working with
relevant Sector Skills Councils;
- encouraging the continued development of strong supply
chains;
- promoting collaboration within, and between, different
sectors;
- assisting the evolution of supportive fora;
- aiding the development of academic support networks; and
- helping boost the visibility of key sectors in export
markets.
